This morning’s front page carries a headline from eldiario.es, dated 23 September 2026. The line, verbatim, is: “Por qué da la espalda China a los avisos de EEUU sobre los riesgos de la IA”. The piece is theirs. If you want the fact, the method, and the caveats, read them there. This URL will not retell them in other words.
Nopubly was not in that newsroom. We do not add quotes the headline does not carry, or an ending we have not checked. What is ours is this edition’s judgment: what to do when someone pastes that message into the group, usually without the link and sometimes with a photo.
An image does not turn the headline into proof
This season’s fraud does not need a long text. A face, a ten-second voice note, or a screenshot of a real site with a paragraph pasted on top is enough. WhatsApp compresses and crops. What you see is not the original file. Treating that thumbnail as evidence is exactly what the hoax wants.
Two years ago a deepfake gave itself away: odd hands, melted text, an earring dissolving into the hair. Current models ship with ears, teeth, and offices that survive a glance. “It looks weird” still helps when the photo asks for money or threatens you. It is not proof.
In this order
- Who sent it, and what do they want? If there is urgency, a payment, or an install, the headline does not matter. Don’t open the file.
- If it is a face and you are still unsure, put it through the scanner. It is built for photographs and faces. Free, no account. It is not a court. A meme or a chart can fool it.
- The eldiario.es link is the source. Forwarding the sentence alone makes a shorter version. The group can wait.
What this URL is not

If the device is acting up
A frightening headline and an attachment are an old pair. If the browser opens by itself, an antivirus you don’t remember appears, or you cannot close windows, drop the photo. That is not the story.
